Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a hilarious 43-minute made for internet musical. It relays the story of Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris, of Doogie Houser MD fame), Penny (Felicia Day), and Captain Hammer (Nathon Fillion).

Dr. Horrible is a video blogging, almost supervillain (he still needs to prove his worth to the other supervillains). Captain Hammer is a Supermanesque hero and Dr. Horrible’s arch enemy. He seems to have a strange sense of what is right and good, but is still adored by the public. Penny is Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer’s love interest.

The story is told in three 14 minute episodes that can be viewed for free on Hulu.com. What I find so exciting about Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is that it is one of the first professional quality shows made specifically for the internet. I am curious to learn if we will be seeing more of this type of shows via the web with professional actors, directors, cameramen, etc. I hope this will open up Hollywood to new talented directors, actors, and let established professionals tell more original and interesting stories.
