TOURS/TALKS ON ERNEST HEMINGWAY

Not sure if this is correct place to put in a suggestion that is not a book purchase. I just recently went on a tour of the Ernest Hemingway home and museum in nearby Oak Park. It was very interesting. The tour guide was really informative. Most of the other people in the other tour were from other parts of the world. I was the only local. Since Hemingway's birth home and museum is a couple of towns over, it would be a great and interesting place to take people on field trips. Perhaps someone from the museum can come and give a talk on Hemingway at the library. I noticed that this interesting place is nearby and no one knows about it.

Thanks for your suggestion. That would be very interesting. I will pass it on to the Adult Programming Librarian.

If you're interested in local history, check out our new Local History Club that is meeting for the first time on January 26th.

As for field trips, keep checking the website for info about a field trip to a local cemetery (complete with a tour). It will take place during April 2009.

If you wish to post suggestions in the future, you can use the Suggestions link at the top. I changed it to be more than suggesting items to purchase. Keep your suggestions coming!

Why would someeone use Meebo

Why would someeone use Meebo instead MeeboMe?

Meebo and MeeboMe widget

We actually use the MeeboMe widget to create an embedded IM window that appears on the right side of each page of our website. It lets people get in touch with a librarian to ask questions.

A person could use the regular Meebo.com site if they were on a computer without chat software installed. This is the set-up we have on our public computers here at the library; we have a link to Meebo that allows people to use their preferred IM account without us installing multiple types of IM software. Whatever you choose to use on your own computer or on your own website though is really up to you.
