The Franklin Park Library currently provides 26 public access Internet computers for adult use and 10 computers that are reserved for kids. We also have 6 Express Computers that require a Guest Pass from the Adult Services Desk. These computers are free for adults 18 years of age and older or high school students with parental permission. Users are limited to one free 30 minute session a day.

All computers are filtered. Internet users are required to avoid looking at materials that will be disruptive to other library patrons.

Internet use is free for residents of the Franklin Park Library District. Non-residents can choose to use a Guest Pass for one free 30 minute session per day on the Express Computers or pay a $0.50/half-hour fee for Internet use in the Computer Lab area.

All Internet users must read and accept our Internet Policy and Rules for Use before using the Internet at the library.

Black and white printing is available from all public computers. Printouts cost $.10 per page.

Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers are both available for use. Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher) and the OpenOffice Productivity Suite are installed on all computers. Games, chat rooms and instant messaging services are allowed.

All files must be saved onto a floppy disk, CD or flash drive; there is no storage available on the hard drives of library computers. Floppy disks and CDs are available for purchase for $1.00. Flash drives are available for $10. Users may also bring in their own disks.
