Job Description: Seeking part-time enthusiastic customer service person to attend to the public at the Circulation Desk and implement other Circulation procedures. Duties include checking-in and checking-out materials, registering and renewing library cards, shelf reading, and shelving when necessary. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to communicate well.

Requirements: High school diploma; library experience a plus. Working knowledge of personal computer software and other equipment used in a library. Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures.

Franklin Park Public Library District

FT/PT:  Part-time

Hours:  16 hours per week.  Includes afternoons, evenings, and a monthly weekend rotation (one Friday evening and one Saturday).

As an Information & Digital Services Librarian, you will offer outstanding service to our community, develop library collections and be involved in a variety of projects as a member of our Information & Digital Services team, which serves patrons of all ages, in person and online.

Your primary responsibilities will include providing reference, reader’s advisory, and technology assistance at our Information Desk, performing collection development, and offering technology training.   Ideally, you will be flexible, self-motivated, work well with others, and have a sense of humor.  This opportunity allows you to sample various facets of public library work in a busy and unique setting.

Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA-accredited school. MLIS students nearing degree completion will be also considered.
