Salary: $30,000-$35,000 DOQ

Seeking person with an eye for detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks, problem solve, and manage time effectively.  The Assistant Head works independently and collaboratively as part of the Circulation team.  Provides customer service, implements policies and procedures, and assists in overseeing the department’s workflow.  This position reports to the Head of Circulation, recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.  This description is representative, not complete.

Minimum of 2 years public library experience in Circulation Services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to preserve confidentiality.

Salary: $9.00 per hour

Job Description:

A Circulation Clerk/Page is expected to serve library visitors with courtesy, discretion, and a positive attitude.  Duties include checking materials in and out, shelving materials, registering and renewing patrons, accepting payments, answering the telephone, as well as other tasks.

Requirements: 

High School diploma or GED.  Candidate must be at least 18 years old, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, pay attention to detail, and be able to work well with others.

Physical requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, step up and down stools, push fully loaded book carts and lift 20 lbs.

Job Description:

The Franklin Park Public Library District is seeking a creative and enthusiastic librarian to join our Information & Digital Services team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of all ages and their families, possesses excellent customer service skills, and is able to work both collaboratively on a team and independently.

 

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating outreach services to local schools and at community events.
  • Planning and presenting programs for children.
  • Providing reference, reader’s advisory, and technology assistance at our two public service desks.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of the children’s collection.
