Read with Your Ears this Summer!

From May 30 through August 21, listen to free audiobooks from SYNC! SYNC is a program that gives away two complete audiobook downloads–a current Young Adult title paired thematically with a Classic or Required Summer Reading title–each week to listeners ages 13+ while SYNC is in session. Former Abe nominee Carter Finally Gets It and Teens' Top Ten nominee The Raven Boys are on this summer's list of free downloads, as well as classics like Jane Eyre and Oliver Twist. Read & Discuss a Free eBook During the Big Library Read

Join a global reading event with the Big Library Read. From now until June 1st, 2013, eMediaLibrary, our digital library of ebooks and audiobooks, will offer a free ebook for everyone to download, read at the same time, and discuss online. The book is The Four Corners of the Sky by Michael Malone; preview a sample of the ebook here. If you'd like to finish reading the entire book, search in eMediaLibrary for "Four Corners," and download/transfer to your device as usual. Librarians at the Information Desk and Tech Help Drop-In are available to help you with this process.

There are many ways you can join the discussion including their Facebook page and Twitter feed. If you're tweeting, you can use the hashtag #BigLibraryRead. There will also be a live Facebook chat with author Michael Malone. This is a great way to try out a new author, and participate in an online reading discussion.
